We Work With You Not With The Business Owner.

The first thing to remember is that we work on your behalf searching for suitable businesses for you here in Mallorca. We do not work for the business seller.

All you need to do is discuss your requirements, budget, time-scale and specific needs and we do all the searching, fact finding and arranging. We then report back to you with targeted results, advice and recommendations.

It really is that simple, however if you don’t want to use our services then the choice is entirely yours, but below will be the normal route you and most people will probably follow:

You will spend days googling for “Business for sale in Mallorca” “Bars to rent in Majorca” and all the other search options you can think of.

You will find many agencies offering a myriad of business for sale, all telling you how great they are.

You will notice that many of the businesses are for sale on several different agency sites, quite often at different prices, with different rents and conflicting descriptions. Confusing?

You will now have to decide which businesses you feel are right. This may be a pointless exercise as many of the sites don’t update their listings that often so you may find that the bar you set your heart on actually sold last year!

You have now spent ages filling in request forms, making long distant calls to Mallorca, ascertaining which businesses are actually still available and planning your trip.

You book your flight, sort out your accommodation, arrange inspections and over you come, full of hope and expectation.

You now have to juggle between all the agencies you have contacted as to which businesses to see, when and where.

Make no mistake. Agencies here are sales people. You will get the sales pitch!

You only ever view businesses that business agencies have for sale. Many business owners choose to sell their businesses privately without agencies or internet advertising. It’s even the case that some of them advertise their business through local property estate agencies and you will seldom find these appearing in google or yahoo searches.

Let’s say you decide to save time, energy, probably money and ensure you find the right business and the best opportunity for you, in the quickest time possible?

Take a look at the way we at Target Mallorca work with you and on your behalf:

Complete one form on our website or make one call to a lo-call rate number. You can be as detailed or as open as your requirements. You may know, for example that you want to buy a bar in a certain town or you may just know you want to buy a business between certain price points. It matters not as we can target our search to fit any of your requirements.

It may even be that you have seen what you think is the ideal place on an agencies website. It makes no difference we can still work on your behalf on that business and also suggest similar from other sources. No agency will do that for you.

We search all the business agencies, local estate agents, local papers and private listings. To ensure that we match your requirements as closely as possible.

We check that the businesses are actually available and what, if any, is the interest in them.

We produce a list of suitable businesses for you and make recommendations on local knowledge, business trends and success rates of similar businesses in similar loactions. So that you are armed with the right information from the outset.

We can ask any questions on your behalf of the business agency or owner, so that you have the right answers before you plan your trip.

When you decide to visit Mallorca, we will arrange business inspections so that they fit in with your itinerary and you make the best use of your time over here.

We will accompany you throughout the appointments, to assist you in asking any questions you may have, in Spanish if need be and to point you in the right direction about the local area and the opportunity.

We will be on hand to answer any questions about any business issue or to offer advice.

If you wish, we will negotiate prices on your behalf with the agency or the owner. We can do this whether you are here in Mallorca or back home.

There may be alternative ways to purchase the business, such as rent, traspaso etc. We will find out for you.

We can recommend a Gestoria (Accountant) and Abogado (Lawyer) to check the legality of the business and to assist you in completing the purchase.

We can also assist in finding a removal company and accommodation for you either to rent or to purchase when you decide to make the move to Mallorca.

Remember you pay nothing to us for the services above.

We don’t replace any business agents. We work with you to ensure you get the best possible advice from whichever source is available.

Now you see you have a choice – Are you going to make the right one?

Please complete our Registration Form to start the process.

The resort of Porto Colom in the South East of Mallorca normally has a selection of bars and restaurants for sale. These are to be found in the central square or in the adjoining beach area of Cala Marsal.

The trade in this area is mainly UK and German with a good level of resident ex pats giving a small possibility of a Winter trade.

There has been a downturn of UK visitors to Porto Colom in recent years but this looks set to improve with a major UK tour operator coming back to the area.

There can be some bargain priced bars and restaurants around here if you know where to look and who to ask.

Please scroll down for more detailed resort information.

Resort Information -- Porto Colom

The resort of Porto Colom is the principle coastal development of the municipal district of Felanitx, on the southern half of the east coast of Majorca. Although as the crow flies the resort is only around 65km, or 40 miles east of Palma and the Son Sant Joan International airport, it has to be said that the road over to the east coast is not particularly good, and it is not unusual for the transfer to take approximately 1.1/2 to 2 hours from the time you actually leave the airport grounds.

The municipality as a whole covers an area of around 170 km2, and along with the administrative town of Felanitx encompasses a handful of picturesque inland villages, and the two other coastal resorts of Cala Ferrera and Cala Serena.

The name of “Felanitx” originates from the Latin word “fenalicius”, which roughly translates into English as “a place where fenas grows”, although records show that the first signs of human settlement in the area actually took place over 2000 years before the birth of Christ.

Porto Colom is the site of one of the most important, and best preserved, “Naveta” or prehistoric burial sites on Majorca, and for this reason in 1996 the Department of Prehistory of the University of the Balearic Islands established the archaeology project known as “Projecte Closos of Can Gaià”, in an attempt to further understand the ancient civilisations of the island.

Porto Colom still remains a small traditional fishing village, that has so far resisted full scale tourist commercialisation. A small amount of mainly residential building work is going on, although the town will never become another Magaluf or Palma Nova.

The main feature of the town is the large natural harbour, which is the home to a number of small fishing boats and an ever increasing number of leisure craft. From the harbour looking inland on a clear day, it’s also possible to see the Sanctuary of Sant Salvador in the distance.

Around the harbour area there is a fair selection of shops for the everyday holiday essentials, along with more souvenir shops behind the beach at Cala Marcal, and it is here to a large extent, that most of the tourist development has taken place. The town has two reasonably sized supermarkets the first “Ca’s Corso”, is next to the Ca’s Corso Apartments and the other Spar is situated by the side the harbour next to the Club Nautico offices. Both offer a good selection of fresh and cooked meats, wines and spirits, fresh fruit and vegetables, along with Mallorquin specialities and British branded products. But don’t expect too much competition with their prices, as they are both owned by the same people.

The resort is very popular with British visitors who aren’t looking for mass commercialisation in a resort, such as water parks and countless karaoke bars, many of which who have subsequently fallen in love with the resort and bought second homes in the area.

Holiday accommodation here mostly falls within the 3 or 4 star standard, which is then supplemented with a fair selection of good value self catering apartments to choose from.

Well what Brit does not know of Magaluf?

It’s the main British resort on the island and has been for many years.

There are many British bars and restaurants in Magaluf to choose from but the trick is to look very carefully at what you are considering buying. Some work, some don’t, some could if you changed the theme or the way they operate. Remember the best and busiest bars in Magaluf rarely come on the open market for obvious reasons. That being said, there are still many businesses that are for sale where you can make a decent living. As with all areas in Majorca, its all about buying right.

Thousands of hotel beds full every night of the summer, but the tourists have many bars and restaurants to choose from. The capital of Stag and Hen parties with a winter trade as well.

Please scroll down for more information on Magaluf.

Resort Information -- Magaluf

Magaluf is Mallorca’s original pie and a pint resort. It was the flagship resort for promoting Mallorca to the world as a destination for cheap package holidays. Today it remains one of Spain’s top mass tourism destinations and it competes with Benidorm and Ibiza as one of the best places to go in summer for nightlife. Magaluf clubs are well known by clubbers throughout Europe and some of the top DJs from the UK turn up here for short stints during the peak season. If you prefer to get to bed before sunrise Magaluf still has plenty to offer you and is very popular for family holidays and with retired people.

To the east the resort begins where Palma Nova ends at the headland of Torrenova. Every single street is packed with bars, restaurants, cafés and shops making specific recommendations very difficult considering the speed at which establishments change hands from one year to the next. In general you’ll have no problem finding plenty cheap food and drink and you might be pleasantly surprised at the good quality of meals in a lot of the restaurants.

Magaluf beach is magnificent with its glorious sand and fine, clear water. There are small kiosk bars set up along the beach during the peak summer playing great music. To the east of the beach the British pub/restaurant The Boatyard (“Geordie owned and run … we also speak English”) is a fine place for a pint and traditional British bar meals. To the west the Nawab Indian restaurant around the corner from Lineker’s has a great terrace overlooking the beach whilst Tom Brown’s and Happy House do a roaring trade in British food.

The Restaurante Las Palmeras at the end of Avinguda de Magaluf is a nice spot for Spanish meat and fish dishes. The Britannia pub just opposite is a long established favourite amongst holidaymakers. From here along Avinguda de l’Olivera there are more long term favourites for family entertainment including Jokers and Benny Hills. The BCM disco is here and just opposite is Morgans pub/restaurant and Mrs Doyles Irish pub which is the best Irish pub in town with fine live fiddle music every night.

You’ll find plenty theme parks around Magaluf to fill your time. Favourites include Marineland which is just 4km east at Portals Nous and the waterparks of Aqualand and Western Park which are just on the main road heading west out of Magaluf. For a brilliant evening of entertainment for all the family you must go to the Pirates Adventure show.

There’s plenty to keep you amused for in and around Magaluf, however, if you do decide to rent a car you’ll be richly rewarded. Just west of the resort are some fabulous beaches such as Portals Vells. Further afield you can head over to the quaint beachside hamlet of Sant Elm on the island’s south west tip overlooking the island of Dragonera for a paella lunch at one of the beachside cafés. Or drive up to Sollersouth west coast to discover the real beauty of this magnificent island.

General Information

Sa Coma is a modern purpose built resort that really only started to develop during the mid 1980′s to meet the every increasing demand for tourist accommodation. Since then it has continued to grow in a fairly controlled manner by Mallorcan standards, to the point where the resort now offers a good selection of shops bars and restaurants, many of which are either British owned, or targeted towards the British tourist which tend to be in the majority in the town. In all fairness to the local council, considerable efforts have clearly been made to maintain “green zones” and extend protection to areas of special environmental interest, the most notable of these being the Punta de n’Amer headland and it is sincerely hoped that this policy is allowed to continue into the long term against the ever increasing demand for tourist beds.

Until the late 1970′s the east coast did actually have its own railway line running from Manacor to Arta, passing through the local towns of Sant Llorenç and Son Carrió. Although the grand station of “Pou Vell” still remains in the centre of Sant Llorenç, sadly there are no plans to reinstate this line, which for a relatively small investment of the much hated “tourist tax”, would undoubtedly prove to be both a major tourist attraction and amenity for the area.

Sa Coma does have an exceptionally sandy beach with the usual selection of water sport and beach facilities including windsurfing and pedalos to hire. Behind the beach is a wide traffic free promenade that runs the full length of the resort towards S’Illot to the south and the smaller sheltered beach of Cala Moreya, which you may sometimes see written as Cala Moraia.

If you do venture into S’Illot, don’t expect to find a mirror of Sa Coma, as most visitors find the contrast between the two resorts to be quite surprising. Unlike the modern purpose built Sa Coma, S’Illot was originally a traditional fishing village that has gradually adapted, and grown into a small holiday resort. The few remaining fishing boats here are still hauled up each day, over the rocks and onto a concrete ramp at the end of the beach. The two resorts are joined by a footbridge over the small freshwater lagoon and also a slightly longer road bridge. Of the two resorts, Sa Coma being the more modern, does have a somewhat better selection of 3 and 4 star hotels, whereas S’Illot tends to have a slightly larger number of self catering apartments.

Evening entertainment here is generally hotel based, although the resort does have a small number of lively bars, but even these tend to have few customers after about midnight reflecting the family market that the town attracts. There are an increasing number of British owned bars in the area. However, if you ever tire of Sa Coma and are looking for a wider selection of bars and restaurants, the “bright lights” of the more lively Cala Millor are only around 5 minutes away by taxi.

Business Information

At any one time there are normally a selection of bars for sale in Sa Coma, Spanish, German and British owned. As with most East coast resorts the season is May to October, however there are an increasing number of ex pats, day trippers and residents in the area so Winter opening could generate some revenue.
