ose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero, the Prime Minister of Spain will be coming to Palma to attend his second and last summer meeting with the King next week at Marivent Palace. The meeting will take place on next Thursday.
This week’s air crash accident is in the top on the agenda for the meeting. The Prime Minister had cancelled rushed to Madrid in order to witness the scene of the air crash and meet the rescue team and then offer condolences to the family members of the victims of this mishap. King Juan Carlos, along with Queen Sofia, also flew from Palma to Madrid to meet the rescue team and the victims’ families. The queen had just returned from the Olympics in Beijing that day.
The first meeting between the King and Prime Minister took place on 1 August in Palma and the country’s economic problems were discussed seriously.
Though the King has decided to end his summer holidays early this year due to the air crash, he and the Queen are expected to host the dinner they organise every year at the end of summerat Almudaina Palace, Palma.
This summer, King Juan Carlos has received the President of Mauritania, Sidi Ould Cheikh Abdallahi, the President of Venezuela, Hugo Chavez and the President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayez.
