Most of the projects undertaken by the previous government by Jaume Matas are under scrutiny due to fraud squad auditing. Of them, the most elaborate and expensive one, the Palma metro project was added to this list of fraudulent schemes yesterday.
The present government, by Francesc Antich said that they would handover the taking care of irregularities in transport hub in Plaza Espanya and the metro project to legal experts. This project had cost millions of Euros as expenses and now the government plans to find out if there is anyone responsible for the political and technical management of the project. If the investigations show such results, then, this issue will be given to Public Prosecution service to handle.
Currently, two technical audits on the fallacies of this metro system are under scrutiny. They were carried out by regional Transport ministry. The metro line had been reopened recently after being closed owing to repeated flooding last autumn.
