Last week thirty members of the staff of Emaya (The municipal water management and street cleaning company of Palma) attended training sessions on handling new cleaning machinery that will be installed next month onwards. Cristina Cerdó, President of Emaya, visited those staff members yesterday.

The president stated that this new machinery is more advanced and sophisticated than the conventional cleaning machinery being used now. Also, she said that Emaya has made investment in the new equipment in order to keep Palma clean and this will lead to a litter-free city.

The course on the usage of new machinery had been instructed to the staff in Son Pax. To make it convenient for the staff members, the sessions had been organized in accordance with their regular tours of duty it was conducted on 13th, 14th of august during two sessions, each one three hours long. The operators could learn how to get efficient results out of the machines and how to use them safely, using a prototype. They were instructed by experts from the manufacturers of that machinery.

President Cerdó praised the staff for being enthusiastic and dedicated towards their work and said she expects them to work with the same sense of commitment when the new equipment will be installed next month. She said that the dedication and commitment of Emaya’s staff is now showing good results as in the case of Emaya receiving the prestigious and international Silver Broom award and also that they are working hard enough to keep up with the expectations of the people of Palma.
